Neil Lennon has revealed he has no news to share regarding a new deal for star striker Odsonne Edouard, following reports the Frenchman could be about to pen a new long-term contract with us.
After signing for us permanently in the summer of 2018 for a club-record £9 million, Edouard has blossomed into the best player in the Scottish Premiership, and he currently has a seriously impressive 27 goals in all competitions so far this season.
Eddy’s current contract that runs until the summer of 2022, but reports coming from France over the weekend suggested he’d be willing to sign new and improved terms – on the basis that there was a ‘gentlemen’s agreement’ put in place that would allow him to leave Glasgow after just one more season.
However, when asked about the reports earlier today, the gaffer appeared to pour cold water on the suggestions:
Speaking via Clyde 1, Lennon was asked for news and said: “I can’t.
“I’d love to but that’s from the French side of things and nothing from this side of the water.”
Should we break the bank in order to keep Eddy for next season’s quest to reach 10-in-a-row?
